Cloth Cocktail Napkins
For an aperitif, coffee or a light snack: cocktail napkins in 30 × 30 cm offer a compact format for your guests. The small 12 × 12 cm cloths, by contrast, serve as fabric coasters. Choose according to the intended use first: will the fabric be held by your guest or placed beneath a glass?

Cocktail napkin or fabric coaster?
The actual size matters more than the term “cocktail napkin” alone. This selection includes napkins for your guests and small cloths for placing beneath drinks. The following distinctions will help you choose.
White in 30 × 30 cm
A compact napkin for an aperitif, coffee or a light snack. Folded in half twice, it forms a square of approximately 15 × 15 cm. The plain white surface is easy to coordinate with different crockery and decorations.
Packs of 10, 20, 50 or 100.
Red-and-white checked in 30 × 30 cm
The same size with a clearly visible coloured pattern. Check the combination with your tablecloth and crockery: the checks have a different effect against a plain surface than alongside other patterns.
Available in packs of 10.
White in 12 × 12 cm
Small fabric coasters for glasses or cups. Compare the dimensions with the base of the vessel. This size is not intended to replace a napkin for meals.
Packs of 30, 50 or 100.
Compare before ordering: Cut out one paper square measuring 12 × 12 cm and another measuring 30 × 30 cm. Place both where you intend to use them. This makes the size difference easier to assess than similarly arranged product photographs.
Where does the napkin go during the reception?
At a reception, guests often need a glass, small plate and napkin at the same time. Consider not only how the napkin is presented, but also how your guest will use it afterwards.
Standing receptions: test glass, plate and napkin together
Recreate a typical situation using the actual crockery and glassware. Can the folded napkin be held together with the small plate? Is there somewhere for the guest to put down their glass? A decorative fold is only helpful if it is also easy to pick up.
Coffee and light refreshments: keep the napkin accessible
Position the 30 × 30 cm napkin so that your guest can pick it up without first moving a cup or plate. If you also use a fabric coaster, keep the two purposes separate: a small cloth beneath the vessel and a napkin for the guest.
Small coasters: check that the vessel stands securely
Lay the 12 × 12 cm cloth flat on a level surface. The glass or cup base should rest entirely on it, without rocking on a fold or raised edge. Test particularly narrow or tall glasses with the intended coaster.
If a meal follows the reception: A cocktail napkin for the reception does not automatically replace the larger napkin at the dining table. Plan the equipment for both parts of the event separately.

How many cocktail napkins and coasters do you need?
Calculate napkins for guests and coasters for drinks separately. The quantity required depends on how the items are issued, replaced and collected after use.
Example: 40 guests with one napkin per person
If each guest receives one white cocktail napkin in 30 × 30 cm, you initially need 40 napkins. Two packs of 20 cover this quantity exactly. A pack of 50 leaves ten extra napkins for replacements or additional guests.
For the red-and-white checked version, four packs of 10 also provide 40 napkins. Compare the total price of the packs required and plan your reserve according to the schedule of your event.
Count coasters according to actual replacements
If a fresh cloth is issued with each of 40 drinks, you need 40 coasters for that round. A pack of 50 provides ten additional pieces. If another 40 drinks are served later, each with a fresh cloth, consumption rises to 80.
This calculation assumes that the used cloths have not been washed and made ready for reuse by that point. Adjust the quantity to your actual replacement and laundry routine.
Collect small textiles separately when clearing
Set up a designated collection point for used cloth napkins and coasters. Small coasters in particular can be overlooked among other items when clearing. Agree with your team how the textiles will reach the laundry.
Clarify care and sorting in advance
Follow the care instructions for the individual item. Do not assume that the washing temperature, drying instructions or permission to use bleach for white napkins also apply to red-and-white checked napkins.
If you use an external laundry service: Check in advance whether they process small 12 × 12 cm items and how these should be supplied. This allows you to plan the complete routine before ordering in quantity.

Choosing cloth cocktail napkins
The dimensions describe the unfolded size. Folded in half twice, a 30 × 30 cm napkin theoretically forms a square of 15 × 15 cm. Allow for possible size tolerances and refer to the information in the product listing.
This small format is intended as a fabric coaster. A 30 × 30 cm cocktail napkin is a more suitable option for a light snack. For a full meal at the table, larger cloth napkins provide more coverage on the lap.
The term “fabric coaster” does not indicate waterproof protection. Moisture can pass through a textile and reach the table surface. Use suitable additional protection on sensitive surfaces.
In this selection, the red-and-white checked version is available in 30 × 30 cm in packs of 10. The small 12 × 12 cm coasters are offered here in white. Refer to the current product selection.
Plan separate clean napkins for each occasion. Those issued at the reception will already have been used. Larger sizes may also be more suitable for the dinner afterwards, providing more coverage on the lap.
